Hello All,

I had an issue starting last night when I got out of work. I was listening to music and the music skipped, then the screen froze. I restarted the computer and it was saying "diagnosing your pc" and I basically reformated the computer. It was running fine after that. Tonight, I get out of work and the computer worked in the AM. However, I got home 2 hours ago and the screens were black again and at times the system would start then say no signal. The Vega 64 red led is also off when the screens have no signal. At this time, I swapped GPUs to my old xfx R290 and its working wonders at this time. Also to note: My mouse and keyboard were having issues getting power and now they are running fine at this time with the other GPU inserted. Any idea what could cause such an unusual issue?

Note: Hooked the GPU up to my old rig and it fired up screen and everything. POST screen loaded and then the red light went off and the screen went black. Any siggestions?

So in the meantime, I am currently looking for a GPU less than $300 that is possible better or equal to the Vega 64.

It's the Sapphire Vega 64.

Any temp records?

Those GPUs are out of my price range.
Except one(GTX 1080), but I take it you're not interested in 2nd hand...

MSI GeForce GTX 1660 DirectX 12 GTX 1660 VENTUS XS 6G OC 6GB 192-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card
~15% weaker than your Vega 64.

EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6 GB SC ULTRA GAMING Video Card (1660Ti-like performance, but closer to 1660 prices.)

Since it did the same thing in 2 different rigs, then there's something wrong with the card itself. The PC ended up diagnosing itself because of the sudden interrupt.
What's the exact make and model of this Vega 64?
I don't suppose you can check the temps of the gpu either?

That's a tough one - only because of the price requirement.
These are the cards that would match the Vega 64's performance:
RX 5700
RTX 2070
RTX 2060 Super
GTX 1080

Only one of them would meet your price requirement: a 2nd hand GTX 1080.

As my budget is probably $250

Temps were running fine; usually between 30-40 celcius.
Just looking for something temporarily now. Don't expect too much from a GPU; just want to play a game on "normal" graphic settings if anything and will probably upgrade when its essential.

Just 30-40C? Dang, that's low, considering the gpu was known to run rather warm...
There may be a broken sensor on it.
A few suspects of black screens: sustained critical temps, insufficient power, and faulty monitor cables.

Can't really go wrong with either GTX 1660/Super.
