Will the gigabyte r9 280 oc wind force graphic card be alright with a i5 2400. Will it bottleneck, and if so by how much?

Solution
Every game varies BTW, so you could even buy a GTX1080 and find many games with minimal CPU bottlenecking.

You can also find CPU bottlenecking scenarios for the R9-280 and i5-2400.

I won't bother to go into details, so I'll just say NO WORRIES really. As always, make sure to tweak your game settings.

*It would be interesting to know the COST of the card though because a non-reference RX-480 is a really awesome value (once prices stabilize). For comparison:

1) R9-280 is almost exactly the same performance as the GTX950.

2) GTX950 costs as little as $125 after rebate. (see pcpartpicker)

3) RX-480 is 2X as fast as these cards (when minimal CPU bottleneck), and even the 4GB model has more video memory which will help many of the...

3) RX-480 is 2X as fast as these cards (when minimal CPU bottleneck), and even the 4GB model has more video memory which will help many of the titles. 2GB is fast becoming not enough for some newer titles even at this performance level.

The RX-480 pricing once stabilized is uncertain, but it does appear we should see after-market for not much more than $200USD for 4GB models.

4) RX-470 is coming and looks like it will have ALMOST the same performance as the RX-480 but possibly $40 or so cheaper.

5) GTX1060 is also coming and should compete near $250USD price point to compete with RX-480.

6) The new cards have some cool features. The NVidia cards for example have ANSEL which is a plugin for coming games that allows 2D/3D snapshots. They have really good VR support as well, with up to 1.6X the performance due to a single-pass-render pipeline.

*For those on a budget, the RX-470 might be the best solution if it costs about $160USD or so.

Summary:
You may not care and may have gotten a great deal, but if not you may want to consider a different card.

The cards you have suggested from Australian Ebay cost more then the r9 280, but do you think a gtx 760 and i5 2400 will bottleneck? Also would overclocking the CPU, only, help make it with the r9 280 have no bottlenecking.

No, it won't bottleneck.

Pick up a used Radeon HD 7770/7850/7870/7950 instead.
Yes, it's used, but you're getting more performance for how much you're spending.
Or you can go for a GTX 770
