Question GPU bottlenecking CPU

CPU: i3-8100
GPU: 1050 TI OC
RAM: 8GB DDR4

So my gpu seems to be bottlenecking my cpu during gaming, as my gpu usage is usually around 60%-80% usage while my cpu is almost maxed out usually. Would the i5-9400F be a good pairing for a 1050 TI? If not what would be a better pairing.

The 9400F is a good upgrade but you may also find you want to upgrade to 2x8gb RAM.

What exact motherboard and PSU do you have?

If playing at 1080P and medium details, you might find that your average frame rate does not increase 'much' with only a GTX1050Ti...

certainly the minimum FPS and 1% lows will improve with more clockspeed and two extra cores...(the above recommendation for 9400F seems quite sensible; update your BIOS first, however)

Newer games such as BF1 or BF5 are definitely needing more than 4 threads, however...

(and concur that 8 GB of RAM is now no longer really enough for smooth game-play in quite a few games...)

And i have 2x4GB ram sticks so would getting 1x8GB stick and adding that to the 2x4GB work out?
