I'm buying a r9-390 GPU and I was wondering if there was any big difference between the brands of GPUS. Here, im talking about XFX, Powercolor, VisionTek Asus and MSI...since the visiontek one is about 60 $ cheaper (canadian money)

Pick whatever you like. The GTX970 is not better, they are equal. It also depends on your resolution, if you plan to play on resolutions above 1080p, the 390's VRAM will come in very handy. If you are going for 1080p, then pick whichever is the cheapest.

As for the brands, Gigabyte and ASUS have both lasted me a long time and given me no problems at all, so go for either.

I would go for the GTX 970 better performance, here is what brand you should get, if you getting the gigabyte you will neeed a Hightower because of it size, or remove some harddisk mounts.

RazerAddict:
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4GB - Fastest, coolest GTX970, great reviews. Even tho it has 3 fans it has less noise than EVGA. Good overclocking potential.

EVGA EVGA GTX 970 4gb - Should be in the middle, however people have been complaining that it is a bit noisy. Have in mind a case with good airflow should fix this.

MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4GB - Best overall, this is what i would take personally. Faster if you overclock it , you get MSI Gaming App with it, just put it on your desktop and overclock the card before getting in a game with like 1 click.
