So i pulled the gt 220 out of one of my pc's because i wanted to put it with another pc because it's the best gpu i have at the moment and i installed the gt 220 in my i3 system and it worked fine with the drivers and its all peachy now the other pc i put the HD 5450 to replace the gt 220 and i installed the ati driver but the gaming evolved app wouldn't install and wasn't moving so i turned off the pc and tried it the next morning and im greeted with a blue screen so i started it in safe mode it was fine then i restarted it and it booted straight into normal win 7 and piriform speccy is showing that it has the 5450 installed but when this pc starts it blue screen's restarts and then runs fine

boot into safe mode uninstall both amd and nvidia drivers. you may have to use a 3 party video drive sweeper.
on the older system if it uses 3 party control chips like nvidia then you can only use a nvidia gpu. intel mb with intel chipset will noit have that issue, also on the older pc check that the mb bios is up to date.

it shouldn't be locked to Nvidia because this was a gaming motherboard, its an msi 7519 also known as a p45 neo apparently
