gpu causing my pc to not have any power

hi i have recently built a pc and at first didnt work so i tested the components and discovered the gpu is somehow causing my system to not have power. the psu has enough wattage to souport it. and if it didnt it hasnt been under load or anything because i cant get the system to turn on. thanks.
 
Solution
Wattage is not the only thing you need to consider with a PSU.
Amps is just as important, especailly when you install a graphics card.
It sounds like you may have underestimated the PSU wattage requirement,
or more likely you didn't even consider the required amperage on the PSU's +12v rail.
