i always use MSI Afterburner to monitor my GPU status, but i now see that my clocks are always maxed out even when the pc is idle. When i'm watching youtube videos online about msi afterburner i always see that the clocks are much lower on other people their pc. Does someone maybe know why this is the case and is this even a problem or dangerous? I got an MSI GTX 1080 TI, 3440 x 1440 - 120HZ Screen. Core clock is always at 1544mhz and Memory clock at 5508.

Solution
Make sure you have the latest motherboard BIOS version.

Do a clean install of the latest Nvidia drivers.

Make sure ALL of the rest of your motherboard drivers are the latest ones available from your motherboard product page. If not, even if you think it is not something which is relevant, update them, especially the chipset, network adapter and audio drivers.

If none of that helps, it may be time to do a clean install of Windows.
