I was having some pretty bad coil whine on my gtx 1070 phoenix with my p450b power supply so I thought that I should swap it out... I chose a Super Flower Leadex III 550W but now It's slightly louder... new sounds are also present I'm scared to play any games that are gpu intensive right now.... Here's a video of it with my old PSU

now here's me trying it out in furmark with my new psu

and the gpu at 30% load making a whole different sound....

I'm pretty worried... the worst part is that there are barely any videos regarding coil whine.. Or this could be the sound of a leaking capacitor, no idea

Coil Whine can sometimes indicate the quality of the power that a PSU is delivering. Super Flower does not make high quality PSUs, so I am not surprised the whine got worse. Your old PSU was probably better quality, but a lower wattage. Get a better quality PSU, something 80+ rated at the very least. The whine should be better after that, but maybe not gone. It depends.

The Super Flower Leadex III series is among the best PSUs on the market. The OP's new PSU is far superior to the Gigabyte p450b.

I mustve confused it with another brand, because your right. I do not know which brand I was thinking of, but I think there is a similar brand name I have seen mentioned that makes poor quality PSUs.

As for the noise change in that case, it could just be a different PSU makes a different pitch/volume noise. Keep an eye on the GPU temps and such to make sure nothing funky is going on
