So the GPU came with a 8 pin and a 6 pin connector. I plugged the 8 pin and 6 pin into the existing cables I had from the last GPU that was plugged in. But the last GPU used 2 6 pin connectors. From the PSU its connected from a 6 pin and my 8 pins are currently not being used. Do I need to match 8 pin connectors with 8 pin or is it ok to just use the 6 pins from the PSU?

I believe the only 8 pin connector I have that came with the PSU is a 6 pin with a 2 pin sorta attatched at the side.

Advice?

Exactly, use the 6+2 and a 6. Thats how my r9 280 and corsair cx750m works and you can use one cable if it had both the 6+2 and 6 or a 6+2 from one cable and the 6 from another. Ps. The 6+2 go side by side touching together, can be difficult to get in just make sure its strait.

Thank you guys very much for the quick response. So I will attach the 6+2 into the PSU / GPU and use another cable for the 6. I made a different thread on why my computer would shut off during a stress test of the GPU and im gonna go ahead and guess this as the reason.
