GPU constantly on 100%+, even when not gaming?

Hi guys,

Just wan to start off with this... I looked around on Google to find a solution and most of the people having similar issue is when they are playing games and i also found one on this site but its 5 years old and there was no solution.

Basically, whenever I start my PC GPU TweakII starts giving me the info on my GPU....the GPU Speed is always on 104% and them temp around 34 degrees. Is it normal for it to be running at 104% because it just doesnt sound right??

My specs are:

16GB Ram
3.4GHz i7-6700 CPU
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070

Any help would be appreciated...also apologies if i havent given enough info, I'm new to this forum and fairly new to Gaming PC's.

Edit: It says my GPU Speed is at 104% even when playing a game (Dark Souls III at max specs)

Might be wrong. Can you check in task manager, GPU tab? Also, run a scan with Zemana Anti-malware and AdwCleaner.

I installed this program and it said for my gpu 100% scanning speed in idle and when i played a game(Fifa 18). But my GPU is not from ASUS, so i don't know if it works. Also, in task manager i had 0% in idle and 99% in the game.

Is the GPU at 100% usage or fan speed? The fan speed can be adjusted with a program such as MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision X16. If it's the GPU usage then it might be mining malware and needs to be removed with anti malware software.

The software could also be showing the power limit, I think mine is set around 107%.

I cant see any GPU tab and I have run Malwarebytes but it doesn't show anything

Honestly I'm not sure, it just says GPU Speed (See picture) It is possible that its just showing the power limit as you mentioned because as soon as I click silent mode or OC mode, the number instantly changes.

You are fine, this program shows something else, not GPU usage.

You are fine, this program shows something else, not GPU usage.

That GPU speed is odd, never seen it in a percent like that.

You can check your gpu usage with a program like MSI Afterburner or HWmonitor.
