Gpu + cpu + motherboard OR better gpu?

I've got quite a difficult decision at hand right now. After having saved up some money, I want to buy some parts for my PC. At first, i was thinking of getting an R9 290 + i5 4670k + a new motherboard to support the chip. However, I just had a look at the 780 ti. Aaaaaand now I think I should just get the 780 ti and a cpu air cooler so that I can just squeeze some more power out of the cpu. Then, when I get the money (Birthday in 3 months), I'll get the motherboard and the 4670k. What threw me off the 290 bandwagon was the hairdryer like sound. So, is the 780 ti worth it? I would like to hear your opinions.

Hog wash. A non-refrence cooled 290x equlas if not beats a 780Ti.
Wait for the benchmarks. Price/Performance a 290x.

Yeah but not that much of a step for almost $200 more and with the non reference coolers like the asus that will come factory oc, the gap it´s virtually nonexistent and still cheaper.

The r9 290x is like a jumbo on fire but that´s with reference cooler, with the asus directCU 2 that I linked it´s the same if not better than any gtx 780 ti while costing less with the same perfomance, that´s a fact.

G-sync is great and all but that also means a $300 new monitor that can support the tech so...
