I put this as a graphics card issue because I think it is related, but I really don't know.
I'll recap what happened and what I've done. I was enjoying my evening with friends playing Final Fantasy XIV, when suddenly the game crashed due to a DirectX related issue. It wasn't just an average crash however, as it took my entire computer with it. I restarted the PC but noticed the resolution was very low, and the screen was full of artefacts. I did another reset and all seemed fine... except when I started my game the frames were in the 2's rather than 60's.
Then I went into the Device Manager where it clearly said that my Nvidia GeForce GTX770 has issues. Error code 43. Looked into it a bit and decided to update the drivers. This was apparently a mistake, because the PC immediately bluescreened. Upon restarting... bluescreen. Infinite loop, as it were. I tried restoring to default settings (using Windows 10), but upon re-installing Windows it bluescreens. Again, infinitely right after the PC boots.
The stop code is "IRQL IS NOT LESS OR EQUAL". Upon further reading into this I learned it was related to memory, so I unplugged the PC and went to do a CMOS reset (motherboard is MSI B85M-E45). Having done that I went back to my PC and hoped it would work... but no. It still loops with "IRQL IS NOT LESS OR EQUAL".
So I'm wondering if there is something I'm missing, or if something is just broke?
