GPU crashes when I select Directx 11 on OCCT test, but it doesnt crash when I use Directx 9

Got a new GPU, Im getting random crashes and freezing.

I ran the OCCT test. In the power supply tab, when I attempt to run it with directx 9 it has no problem.. But when i choose directx 11 and run it, after 2seconds the GPU freeze with a buzzing sound coming from the speaker and the monitor goes blank.

Could this be a possible Directx problem?

I have the directx web runtime up to date from the microsoft website
I have the latest Nvidia drivers installed

CPU: Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q9400 at 2.66 GHz
GPU: Asus GTX 770 2GB DirectCU II
Memory RAM: 6GB
OS: Windows 7 64-bit

Hi, I found the same problem.
I have a ASUS GTX 770 4 GB DrectCU II, using HDMI.
I thought it was a League of Legends problem, which I installed first, then I installed TW: Shogun 2 and had the same problem.
I installed Metro 2033, too, and it ran well. Then I stopped playing and check the graphic settings, finding it was running DX9. I switched with DX11 and quit the game to apply changes. Restarted the game, and the pc fell in the same situation you described, as it happens with Shogun and LoL.
I have already removed and reinstalled newest drivers for Nvidia and disabled sound driver for Nvidia (this from Device Manager), but it didn't work.
I also checked about the same issue on the Internet and found lots of people having the same problem.

There are some interesting solutions, like underclocking the memory and the GPU clock or uninstalling ASUS utilities or unistalling an update for Windows. Seems that in the most of the cases like urs, reinstalling drivers doesn't work.
Well, I've underclocked my videocard to stock settings(links 2-3), uninstalled Windows Update KB2670838 (6), modified some setting on Nvidia control panel, like "Manage 3D settings>Program settings>Metro2033>Power management:max performance" and I'm going to download RivaTuner to modify some settings (seems like Nvidia CP, but with more settings) (link 5).
I'll let you know how it works ASAP.

It didn't work. This time I got a different problem: the screen had green squares alternated with green-white-black-spotted squares. I called Asus customers'support and I'm going to send the card on RMA to my dealer, who will send to Asus. I'll let you now what will happen. If nothing fixes the problem, you should do this, too.

Well, after a month I got back my new card. Now the GTX doesn't crash in-game, because I set the monitor refresh for 60HZ to 50 from Windows. So I can run a game in full-settings, with no crash in-game. Yes, I said "in-game" because this morning, after a game session, I went to open the Opera browser and got another random color screen. I'm gonna RMA this second card, but this time I'm asking the seller for another graphic card, if possible not an Asus one.
