Gpu crashing pc during games?

I have a problem with my computer and i am completely clueless. Ill be playing a game the fps will stutter, the screen will go black and sometimes it will recover and put me back in the game or restart my computer. I thought it was my gpu, so I downloaded evgas oc scanner and while testing I get the same problem after about a minute, but it recovers most times after and the graph just shows a slight drop in usage that will climb until it happens again. Sometimes it crashes and nVida gives me an openGL error. Is my gpu dead? Its dying at the worst possible time with these gpu prices ;c

Need to list your system specs, including power supply brand and model. Issue is most likely with the video card or power supply but maybe drivers.

Is anything overclocked or was? Can you test the card in another system with a good power supply?
