When a video card causes a computer to crash it is often for 1 of 3 reasons ... Heat, Power, or Driver.

  1. Overheating ... a pretty common issue, especially with an older video card (dust in the fins) or with overclocking. Usually it takes time for the heat to build up, so if it is crashing the second you start a game, that seems wrong (unless you overclock too much).
  2. Power ... if your PSU (you didn't list what you have) can't put out enough power to the GPU it will crash. Crashing right when a game starts would line up with this.
  3. Driver ... if you have the wrong driver or the software has been corrupted it can cause a crash. This is easiest to fix ... just reinstall the driver.
BTW ... you never...
