I bought an AMD RX 580 2048SP GPU.

I connected the video hdmi to the motherboard instead of the video card. The Gpu worked normally for 2 days until I updated windows 11 via windows update and it disappeared from cpu-z, system manager, adrenaline. However, the coolers are still running, but when I connect the cable to the video card, the monitor gives no video signal. I've tested various solutions I've found on the internet and none of them have worked. Here's a list:

  • uninstall drive via ddu;
  • returning windows update to the previous installation;
  • restoring the system to a date when it worked;
  • formatting the computer;
  • changing the cable;
  • and installing the specific drive manually.

Nothing works, all the solutions I found on the internet didn't work, that's why I came here. I believe that the way the problem occurred, it must just be a software problem.

Did you try resetting CMOS and/or disabling IGPU ?

Just to clarify a point: If you plug into only the dedicated GPU, if you clean boot your PC, do you get video output for the splash/BIOS, or are you a blank screen the entire way through?

Other then that: I know plugging into the iGPU can confuse Windows and it sometimes takes a reboot or two for Windows to switch over between devices (went through this with my father recently). But at PC boot plugging into the dGPU should be giving *something* if it's working. And plugging into the iGPU certainly shouldn't break/disable the dedicated one.

black screen throughout the process, however if I switch the hdmi cable from the gpu input to the basic input on the motherboard, the computer is on and working normally. It just doesn't have the gpu.
