Hi!
i've used my R9 270 few years. Recently i tried to put it in a different PC where previous GPU died but there's a problem. After removing dead GPU, R9 270 can't activate screen. PC boots normally, HDD and fans are working but screen is black and not responding, led indicator is just blinking. Then we've tested also spare GTX 260 and everything is fine on this card... What should i do to get R9 working on this PC?
PC specs:
CPU: i5-2300
MoBo: asrock P67 Pro 3
old, dead GPU: GTX 560Ti, and spare GTX 260
PSU: Fractal Design Tesla 650W

Have you tried updating the system BIOS of this PC ? Also, clear and reset all the CMOS/BIOS settings to default values.

Hi there,
Just try doing the following things:
1. Remove the cmos battery keep it for 15 mins and fix it back into the board and put the gpu.

2. update to the latest bios https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/P67 Pro3/index.asp#BIOS

3. if your screen is blinking try removing one ram and try it in different slots

Hope this will help you but before you do the updating of the bios just do the option 1 and 2 and see. Hope this will work

I've tried removing battery but it didn't help. Screen isn't blnking, it's just pure black with blinking indicator like if it was unplugged or so.
I didn't tried updating bios yet as i'm kinda scared of this (heard that i can mess up mobo by doing it wrong) but it looks that i have to try it.

Ok if you scared updating the bios then dont do it

Try and remove your ram and reseat if you have two sticks remove one stick out and try and see in different ram ports and see whether if it is working it should work.

Driver conflict from Nvidia and AMD? - remove GPU, boot up, uninstall nvidia drivers, restart, download and install amd drivers for the R9... complete installation, shut down, insert card in?

Are you using different cables ie HDMI vs Display port or other? could you try either or?

I couldn’t install AMD drivers with nvidia card inserted.
Then I’ve tried to update bios via windows (now I know that’s a mistake) and as i worried of it went wrong. System boots up to windows logo and then shuts down and repeat this endlessly.
So I’ve tried updating to different version via instant flash (through bios) and it was looking good. Then I’ve done clean install of Win10 and PC was working fine few hours. Now after booting it shows bluescreen and reboots. What could be wrong now? Tried installing windows one more time and couldn’t even complete the installation because of bluescreens.

Have you checked the RAM slots, something could have moved while your taking stuff in/out... Maybe a faulty RAM slot... try with one RAM in the slot (assuming you have two sticks)...

Tried with one stick in different slots but still getting bluescreen. Installed windows one more time, everything was fine till i was setting up account in first configuration - bluescreen again.
