today i was playing phasmophobia and i noticed a black dot with a shaded black outline on the monitor, all worried i try to clean the monitor but it wasn't, i restart the pc and it's gone, could it be that the gpu is dying? i have an msi ventus 1660 super

Solution
so can be my gpu dying?

No, I'd change the thermal paste to keep the temps down. Hopefully that will solve the problem. If it doesn't, you're losing 0.5 gram of paste. But I would try.

I said I saw the same things on my monitor and turns out news of my gpu's death had been greatly exaggerated. It is alive.
my max temp was 81 celsius and driver are the latest

That's high. my gpu shuts my pc down when it reaches 70.
However I changed the thermal paste, used a different heatsink and now it never goes above 40. ok it's winter now. but anyways in summer it will stay well below 60.

was 81c your max under stress. will it go higher under heavier load? it's already high, so I'm skipping a gpu stress test.

how long have you been using it? if it's been 2 years, thermal paste have dried. change it with some good paste. Thermalright's TF8 is a Taiwanese brand that makes 13.8 wmk pastes. That's higher than Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut's 12.5 wmk.
