Question GPU Fan loud after changing the PSU ?

My PC is around 6-7 years old.

Today I changed out my 300W PSU to a 550w PSU, my GPU fan started spinning at full speed and was very loud.

This has not happened prior to the PSU change.

I've cleaned the GPU and added new thermal paste but it's still the same.

The temperature of the GPU seems to be fine.

Can anyone shed some light on what is going on?

i7-6700k
GTX950

Thanks!

300w? Really?
Not a good idea. You were lucky that it didn't break.

550w is fine but the quality matters. Whats the brand/variant/model? Maybe its struggling to get enough power. Also, wears and tears with age.
Sorry, it's actually 350w, not that makes much difference lol
The 350w is stock PSU, the stock PC is ASUS M32D.
Recently I've changed out CPU from i5-6600 to a 6700k, I thought might as well change PSU, since it's been a while now.
The new PSU is Cooler Master MWE 550, I am pretty sure it's better than my stock PSU.

some cheap power supplies or graphics cards just use cheap components which may be loud at any stage of work.
you don't provide any component specifics so no one knows what the issue may actually be.
I've been using it with old stock 350w PSU and it was running fine.
The fan went crazy after I change to Cooler Master MWE 550w.

MWE has many variants ranging from decent to not so decent. Hard to tell without exact variant, but it's definitely better than the stock one.
