GPU fan spinning randomly with no fan speed displayed in programs like Asus GPU Tweak

Ive got a GTX 750 TI GPU that goes from 0% to 100% fan usage randomly throughout the day and it gets more frequent every day.
Until days ago GPU Tweak did display fan usage but now it just stays on 0% while the fan is obviously running.

Could this maybe be a dead fan? or maybe a motherboard problem?

Most likely not the motherboard. Could be the fan itself, or the connector of the fan on the graphics card PCB. Perhaps also the fan controller on the graphics card.

Only way to be sure would be to change the fan I gues... perhaps someone else knows a better way to test it though
