Putting together a system from some old parts. Bought a second-hand CPU from CEX (that they say works), brand new DDR3 memory, old Mobo, old GPU that has been tested in my own PC this weekend.
When powered up, the GPU fans spin at full speed and I get no display. Monitor power light is on, but I get no signal.
The Mobo is a second-hand Asus M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 and was sold as AM3/AM3+. I originally used a CPU that wasn't on the compatible list (stupidly didn't think to check) so have bought on that was. AMD Bulldozer FX-8150 (3.6GHz) .
