Hi,

First, I do apologise if I have posted this in the wrong category.

I have recently decided to build a PC, this being my first time. I plan on using softwares, such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Maya, Sony Vega, and playing games such Watchdogs, Skyrim (which I plan to mode with an EMB, in addition to so much more), BF4 and Bioshock Infinite on Ultra.

I am currently unsure which GPU I should buy. So far I have been recommended the following:

  • GPU: Either the GTX 770, R9 280x, or R9 290
For the build itself, I've chosen the following components for the build.

  • CASE: Silencio 652S (Temporary)
MoBo: Asus Rampage IV Black Edition
    CPU: i7 4820k
    RAM: Corsair Vengeance pro 2x8GB
    SSD: Corsair Neutron 120GB
    HDD: WD 1TB SATA III
    WC: Corsair H110
    PSU: Corsair AX860i
I'd appreciate any suggestions made.
Thank you, in advance.

I suggest you get the 4930k instead of the 4820k and get at 780 or a 780 ti.

What resolution is your monitor.

For adobe Photo shop and other graphics programs the 4770k or 4820k is adequate however the 4930k is better.

Watchdogs is probably going to play better on Nvidia cards because they have a partnership with Nvidia.

Bf4 & Bioshock infinite are great on both NVidia and AMD cards.

Between the 770 and the 290, I would personally go with the 290 even though I like Nvidia cards better in general...
I'd say not not the 4820k just because if your gonna go low end 2011 might aswell save money and go 4770k and an Asus Maximums hero. throw the extra cash at your GPU AMD get a 780 or 780ti. That is what I did and it works amazingly

If you get the 290 you will need to disable PhysX in watchdogs if the technology is offered and you probably won't get as smooth gameplay as a 780 or 780 ti.

The 290 is great for bf4 and Bioshock.
