gpu for 250fps on cod4

in cod4 you need 250fps to strafe and do glitches and bounces. i need gpu (used and cheap) that will do 250fps on lowest setting 720p. for example 6600gt is getting 100 ish fps but on 640x480. will gtx 650 or hd 5770/6770/7770.

it's core2quad q8200 overclocked but i know it guess it wont be the problem cuz on 100ish fps it stays on 20% load.

on 100fps it is 20% load so it should be good enough.

Total cpu doesn’t tell you much, you need to monitor all cores. If one core is running at 100% while the other 3 are at 0% the total cpu usage will be reported as 25%. An old game like that is unlikely to use more than 1-2 cores, it only takes 1 core hitting 100% to limit performance.

No, it cant do the job. Your are seeing 20% usage because not all the cores are being used and the game engine is only used one of the threads. Most games only run on a couple of threads. They get their performance bump from very fast single threads and your core2quad cannot compete with modern processors.

You are using a 10 year old CPU and expect it to pump out 250fps on a modern AAA game. It ain't gonna happen.

Then when told you don't even have the CPU to do it, even if you had the GPU, you ignore the people who obviously know more about this stuff than you do because you are here asking in the first place.

Get a better system, like an i7 2600K and a worthy GPU like a GTX 1050. That will be enough power for you to cheat at that old game. Who knows, you might even find a newer game that is fun to play without cheating.

there are servers where it is forbiden to glitch but in promod it is not, and the cpu is not the bottleneck, i tried the game today with my friends 960 gpu and i had 450-550 fps (cap was set to 999). now 1050 or 960 is a bit too expensive for me.

You can get a used 750ti at ebay for like $30-50 and you can pull 250fps with a good cpu. Your current CPU probably cannot in all honesty, so I would just advise on upgrading the entire thing.

Also, exploiting engine defects =/= cheating. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to get over there high horse and stop being a filthy casual lol.
