I'm building a M-ITX computer with a 3770K cpu. The case and motherboard have room for one dual slot gpu. I need it to power a single 27" 2560x1440 display. I plan on playing fairly high end games. I'm looking for suggestions on GPU's that are powerful enough to maintain high frame rates on very high/ultra settings.

Thanks for the suggestions in advance.

most HD 7990 and GTX 690 take up 3 slots and the user has 2 slots. If he is using a micro ATX case he might even have space for a HD 7850

It doesn't really sound like you have a lot of choices - you want high/ultra settings at a very high resolution, which pretty much limits you to the very top end- a 670, 680, 7950 or 7970. You probably can get any of those to work just fine and at least with the reference coolers those all would fit into say, a Cooler Master Elite 120 or Bitfenix Prodigy, which I assume are similar to what you have.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Length of card isn't an issue. I'm trying to stuff all of this into a Silverstone SG-08 M-ITX case. My current GPU is a 580. But I didn't think it would hold up on the new monitor. The 690 would probably be best, but that $1000 price tag is rather nasty. I'll probably pickup the 7970.

Thanks to all.
