Ι already own the 2 asus r9 280x clocked ar 1200/1680 but i have the opportunity to trade them for 2 hd 6990 with accelero extreme cooler also overclocked but do not know the numbers. My 4k monitor is on the road and i was like gaming on 4k with high settings w/o tessellation mssa fxaa and such power hungry futures on ot maxed so i can get 50-60 fps since not all games are so much power hungry like bf4 etc and i do play all kind of games not only fps so not 60fps is a must here. I can deal with it....
Went to 4k since i watch movies everyday etc and the price for asus pb287q monitor was kinda low.

well saw some benchmarks etc and is not...the hd 6990 is about 20% - 25% faster and with more vram which theoritically can perfom better at 4k than r9 280x but i am seeking answers of real perfomance difference...

alsi hd 6990 is old 40nm technology

i havent trade them i think i will stay with me r9.
is not pointless to go on 4k cuz i am not only gaming on the pc...so gaming is a factor but not completely the need.
also some of the settings are not needed in 4k,like super sampling is useless. mssa only x2 increase quallity at 4x there is no visible increase.
tesselation also not needed at 50% when your screen is has flickering-free feature.
dunno about fxaa tho.

I am aware that i have no personal experiance and the infos provided came from other forums and pc perfomance related sites.
But some of them like msaa is on linis tech tips about 4k monitor video
about Tesselation i found it on oc 3d video
