Hi, I'm planning to get either an HP Prodesk 400 G3 MT or a HP Elitedesk 800 G2 MT (because we work with HP, so I can get these for significantly less. The HP consumer PC's right now only have 180W PSUs) and would like to upgrade its GPU. Am I pretty much constrained to the GTX 1050 Ti as the best I can put in there machines?
Main restriction would be the power supply, as the Prodesk 400 can only have up to a 300W bronze PSU, while the Elitedesk 800 can have up to a 400W platinum PSU. And I don't want to have to bother with replacing the PSU, I'd much rather do that if I will be upgrading in a few years. So would the 1050 Ti, with its low power consumption be my best bet? The alternative I've considered is a 1060 3GB with the Elitedesk. I will be configuring these with an i3-6100 processor, 8GB ram. Really just looking for an entry level thing
Also, another constraint is that the back panel only seems to take single slot cards, so it seems like it would limit me to the Zotac GTX 1050 Ti models, as Zotac is the only one that doesn't have that vent in the back taking up another slot. Here's a picture of the back of the EliteDesk for reference:
