GPU for COD4

Hi guys i wanna play cod4 mw online in promod and i need advice in upgrading the gpu that'l get 250fps in promod. Budget is not the issue here but i dnt wanna

spend more than i have to for the 250fps.

Current specs:

mobo dh61ww

proc i5 2300

gpu evga 550 ti

ram 6gig 1333

psu 500w 80plus

hard 1tb green caviar black

p.s: 550ti gets me 125fps in cod constant with my cfg but not the 250 constant.

Sorry for asking that, but why do you need 250 FPS?
30 fps is real smooth..!!

there are some jumps n bounces in promod that require 250fps.

are you mad recommending a 6990 for COD 4? :lol: My gtx 275 pushes 100 fps on max easily in that game
@OP If money isnt an issue I recommend a gtx 560.It will play most games awesome at your resolution
If money is an issue get the gts 450.It will play COD 4 at 100 fps anyway

its the amd flagship right? i dont think i need the best card out there just for 250fps in cod4, arent there any cheaper cards that'l do the trick? thnx

Isnt there a promod forum were you could ask and see what other people are using to get 250fps?

According to that benchmark (if its accurate) not evan a 6990 will cut it unless maybe playing at a really low res which I cannot believe

In reality theres no way you can achieve that much fps because at some point all cards run into a CPU bottleneck.The only way to get a constant 250 in smoke etc is to get the i7 2600k overclock it to 4GHZ and then buy a card like the gtx 570 which should do the trick

Might be cutting it close with a GX 550w, that is if your are getting a 2600k, overclocking it and getting a gtx 570. best of going with a good quality 600-650w
