im searching a gpu to play not demanding games like gta v, bf 1... just bf3, gta 4, san andreas at normal resolution

My psu is this one: https://www.amazon.es/Approx-APP500PSBULK-alimentaci%C3%B3n-ventilador-silencioso/dp/B00GWLKNEE
my mother board is a p5gc-mx/1333
i have 3 gb of ram.
processor core 2 duo e6300 (i will upgrade to e8400, it only costs 4 euros)
I have those 3 candidates:

ATI Radeon Barts HD 6850 1GB DX11
€35.00

Nvidia GeForce Fermi GTX 550 Ti 1GB DX11
€42.00

Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 1GB DX11
€40.00

What is the best candidate?

Solution

Fermi is the architecture used for most of the cards in the 400 and 500 series, including the GTX 460, as well as a few low-end cards in the 600 and 700 series (like one version of the GT 730).

The 460 and 6850 are evenly matched. The 6850 uses less power, so it's probably the better pick with your PSU (not familiar with the brand, might not be the best quality).

But the 6850 is a little bit power hungry, could my psu handle it?

The two Nvidia cards are still supported by regular driver updates. AMD moved the HD 6000 series to legacy status several years ago. With an old CPU like that it really doesn't matter which of the three you get. They're all going to be bottlenecked to an extent by any Core 2 Duo. Nvidia drivers tend to play nicer with old, weak CPUs. The driver overhead (CPU load) in DX11 is less than with AMD drivers.

And what are some gpu recomendations to not have any bottleneck with a core 2 duo? a gt 730 maybe?

A 500W PSU will handle it ok, but I believe you will need 1x6-pin PCIe power connector.

I have another question;

i got this one too: Nvidia GeForce Fermi GTX 460 1GB DX11
€32.00

What's means Fermi? is the same as the normal gtx 460? could a e8400 handle a gtx 460?
