I’m looking to upgrade my graphics card. I don’t really play games on my pc but I do build them. I use a lot of software like Maya, ZBrush, Substance and Unreal and would like to know whether it’s beneficial to jump on the RTX train or if a different card would better suit my PC? I currently have a GeForce 970.

Hi Rottenvertex, cool name xD

I'm a 3d artist too and I have the same card! I never had any issues working with 970 gtx but recently bought a 1440p 27 monitor and I need a new gpu for gaming too.

My personal recommendation for you, if you like Nvidia cards, 2060 rtx or 1070 TI are best options imo. Probably I'm gonna take the 2060 rtx next month but if you can find a 1070 TI at better price, I would take it. At same price.. 2060 rtx for just future new drivers and performance. Plus you can still get $120-150 for your 970 gtx if you want sell it.

If you are working with 1080p/1440p resolutions you will be fine with any of these :)
