GPU freezing PC? (R9 280x)

I got a new card around Christmas (R9 280X), and it has been doing it since I got the card, and installed it. I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled, but that seems to have done nothing.
I have not had it freeze in a full screen game, but I have while playing windowed or randomly surfing the net.
Anyway solutions towards fixing this?

GPU - Idle: 40C. Gaming - 72C Maximum
CPU - Idle: 41C. Gaming - 58C Maximum

Last game I attempted was the PS2 emulator, I never have a problem with it. I suspect the freezing is completely random. but i'm concerned the only fix could be a full reinstall.

That sounds like a cpu freeze not a gpu. If possible bring up the cpu usage gadget or something alike and check your cpu usage on idle and on chrome, there may be viruses clogging up the cpu.

Right, maybe. I jumped to the GPU because I never had the problem with my other GPU, so I assumed it was the cause. Ill be on the lookout, Thanks.

Currently running Steam, Chrome, and MSI Afterburner, and its peak so far has been 12. It is currently 1-3.
