msi Z87-g-45 mobo

asus dvd drive

Built the PC about 2 years ago has been fine running on stock clock runs most games etc
A week ago I get a crash mid way through a game of CS:GO which usually runs perfectly. Screen goes striped vertical showing yellow lines.
reboot and happens again and again when playing graphics intensive games
check my temps and gpu is running at a stable 51 ish
take gpu out and clean dust off card and put everything back in
turn the fans up to 70% and that solves it for a while
play mad max for 3 hours as a stress test and is fine
try to boot up today and won't get past gray screen, num lock doesn't work
boot up in safe mode but nothing else works

it seems pretty clearly to be a problem with the GPU but i'm wondering if it could in any way be related to two mod files I installed a week ago which norton flagged as trojans but i was assured that it was in fact fine and that norton just tags loads of stuff up.

is there anything i could do to solve it or am i just gonna have to send the GPU in for warrenty (i dont know how effective that would be as I bought it new unboxed on Ebay and have had it for 2 years)

here are some pictures

any help would be much appreciated

When you see the bars do a print screenshot and if you see the bars in the picture it's your card. If you dont then the card isnt the cause.

pretty sure the gpu is the problem
i've tried to boot and it will only boot in safe mode, teh warrenty is expired so I guess its time for a new gpu
thanks anyway

had a similar issue with r9 270x check heat exchanger plate on vram screws loosened up some cause that its not ur gpu if ur seeing bars its a memory clock problem lower memory clock if all else fails gpu crashes are blank screen or freeze ram causes blocks lines distortion etc try reapplying thermal paste the better the paste better off u are don't get the cheap shit

I have had this problem for a while, ended up buying a new power supply, motherboard and cpu... It's nice im upgrading my system but jeeeeeez. Now its clear that the only thing left to be the problem, is the GPU.

What I cant understand though is after I get the vertical lines issue, why my computer doesn't turn on with it in?
