GPU has 6 pin and 8 pin, PSU only has 8 pin

My GPU has slots for an 8 pin and 6 pin, but the PSU I ordered by mistake only has a 6+2 pin cable. Will it work with just the one at least temporarily or do I absolutely need a new PSU? My GPU is a Radeon R9 280 3gb, and this is the PSU I have:

It seems to be a decent PSU if a bit low on wattage. I’m guessing the answer is just to get a new PSU but I wanted to be sure.

Time for a new PSU that can support the card.

Ok, thank you for the replies. Out of curiosity what would happen if I did only use the one 8 pin? I’m not going to try it though, it’s not worth the risk. Also I may be upgrading to probably a RX 460 or similar, would those PSUs be enough to power that?
