Hello everyone.

Sadly my GPU has died, it has been deactivated by Windows and I have tried to fix it to no avail. Luckily I was going to buy a new one in the near future, but now it needs to happen somewhat earlier than anticipated. I have around 1000 euros as a budget, although lower budgets are welcome. I was wondering what you people would suggest for me to upgrade my current PC with.

Current specs:
CPU: AMD FX 8150
Cooling: Stock*

Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 R2.0
RAM: 2x Corsair Vengeance (4GB)

GPU: Nvidea GTX 770 gigabyte 4GB

Tower: Carbide Series® 500R Mid-Tower Case89

EDIT: PSU: be quiet! pure power L8 630W

I predominantly use it for gaming, but I am a multitasker and I often watch videos and listen music on YT while I game. I play all kinds of games but the ones I would like to achieve a high framerate in the most are the Total War series.

* I have a non-stock cooler "cooler master hyper 412S" which should have fit on my motherboard but it didn't
That is why I would also like a MB on which this cooler fits (according to the box LGA 2011, 1366, 1156, 1155, 775 and FM1, Am3+, AM3 and AM2).

I hope someone is able and willing to help me. If more information is needed I will happily provide it if I can.

Thanks in advance!

Here you go, the motherboard doesn't require a BIOS update.

Oh forgot my PSU:

PSU: be quiet! pure power L8 630W

It is quite old so I think it needs replacement. I have 2 monitors of 1080p dont know the exact refresh rate but probably not more than 60Hz.

I have enough storage for the moment.
So parts I need would be: MB, CPU, GPU, PSU, RAM.

This would be a good improvement not only for your GPU but also CPU.

Here's a guide how to update the MB without the CPU which is required for the 3600 on a B450 board.

That price looks good. I am a bit lost as to why I would have to update my BIOS as in the video, could you explain? Does it just come with an outdated version which this newer CPU doesn't recognise or something?
