GPU has one HDMI port, headset needs one also. Would mobo HDMI work?

Hey everyone!

I'm looking to buy a cheap VR headset, and the HP windows mixed reality headset seems like a pretty good choice. I have compatible components in my pc, however, my GPU only has one HDMI port when the headset needs one as well for my monitor and headset to both be connected. Can I use the HDMI port on my mobo? will it work?

It won't work for your head set. What you want to do (what I did) is get a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter for your display and use the HDMI port on your graphics card for the headset.

Of course, this assumes your graphics card has a DisplayPort output. What card is it?

I have an MSI Rx 570 8GB OC. It has some other ports (like HDMI but one side is square?) so I assume that's what you're talking about.

Ok! I have a hub of ports with a USB-C connector (I used it on my old laptop) which has a HDMI. If I plugged that into the USB-C port on my mobo, would that work also?
