Yesterday i bought a new GeForce GT 610 Graphics card, and at the begginging it worked great but it started heating up to 69 C i removed the back cover and it went to 59 C.. I tried to upgrade the drivers to the newest version and it helped but not for long, it started to heat up again, when the pc starts the gpu is about 30 C but after a while it goes to 59 again... i looked on the internet that Msi Afterburner should help but i don't know how to adjust it properly... does anyone know how to stop my gpu from heating up ?

I know this is a late reply but.

One thing is for sure. You have demonstrated that you are having an air flow problem by the temp. change when the case cover is off compared to it being on. Another thing to check for is dust build up inside the gpu on the heat sink fins. Create some more air flow inside you computer case with a fan or two. They are not expensive. Quite inexpensive really. But of course you will have more fan noise. For now the last thing I can think of is the cooling block has separated from the gpu just a little. If the card is still new enough return it and get a new one. If is is too late then you can try re-seating the cooling system on the card. Bud sadly heat transfer past is not inexpensive. It is normal...
i have tried to look what other people did but they are mostly using a different gpu or they are using coolers or something like that, and i don't have money for extra parts

It is normal for a gpu to warm up over time. But 70c seams high to me.

For the MSI Afterburner software. Did you go into the settings portion of the software? After you go into the settings under the tab FAN you will see a check box (Enable user defined software automatic fan control). Make sure that is checked. Now you can slide the speed/temp graph anywhere you would like. Just to see if you hear the fan kick on to max I would recommend setting the complete graph to the top of the graph chart setting the fan to 100%.

The serious lagging problem might be due to the gpu throttling. I don't think that is the case thought but might be. I would think there is another issue with your software for your computer. Have you checked how many programs are running in the background of your computer? For ease of use you could download Advanced System Care (Free option). You can use the Turbo Boost option. Set that for gaming. Then you can go into the Toolbox. Go into the Startup Manager. Check to see what is starting up when your computer starts. That allows you to stop programs from starting when your computer starts. The last thing for now I can thing of is you might have a virus or somthing of that nature.

Of any of this helps. Just some of my experience of, yes experiencing those problems until I learned how to deal with them. Any of the ideas I listed above is hopefully away to deal with the problems without having to have some real technical knowledge. There are far deeper ways of handling these problems.
