GPU high idle clock speed

My gpu seems to be running at a high clock speed even though my gpu usage is at 0. I noticed that this after gaming for a long time. I've tried restarting my pc but it seems that my clock speed is still running high on idle. I leave my PC on 24/7.

What boost are you referring too? Do you mean K-Boost?

Well it seems that what's keeping my idle clock speeds so high is my nvidia power management settings. I've set mine to maximum performance which apparently causes it to have a high idle clock speed. But it seems that the setting only takes effect when I restart my computer after changing the setting.
