GPU Hitting 110 degrees C when in use.

When just in desktop it averages around 65-80 degrees C(depends on outside temp). However as soon as I load a game it spikes to 110.5 and stays there until I turn it off, the fan speed is only at 80% until it reaches 110 at which point it hits 100%. I have a AMD ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series GPU that is roughly 6 years old but recently the PSU burned out and I dusted out everything. I am using it in a Dell XPS Studio 435mt which I know has issues with cooling but I genuinely doubt that they would send me a card that is obviously way too hot running for this computer. If there is no other way to cool this card in this case then I would LOVE any suggestions as to what kind of case would fit. Am I wrong to assume that any old medium-large ATX case would fit? I was looking at the Fractal R5 and a few others.

That is a really old prebuilt Dell PC. I have an XPS 435T lying around, and the build quality is horrendous. Airflow is a disaster, and so is dust. I can understand why the GPU is getting choked. Also, that is a rather hot and old graphics card. You said your PSU burned out? Might have taken some other parts down with it, like VRMs, which may be why your GPU is running so hot. 110 degrees is no temp for a GPU. As for how to fix, sorry mate.

Would there be a way to transfer the parts to a different case? The PSU did not damage any parts as far as I know because this only started becoming an issue recently. I am planning to upgrade the gpu and psu anyway if I can move cases. I was looking at a Fractal R5 and I was wondering if that would be compatible with minimal modification. If even that is impossible, is there any way I can upgrade the heatsink or fans on my gpu to help cool it. Also today it hit roughly 115 and shut down under 100% load. It hits 100% pretty often as I run some fairly demanding programs and games. Actually now that I think about it, could upgrading the stock case fan and the gpu fans help?
