GPU hitting 80c

I have two EVGA superclocked 780ti's in SLI, and the top card is hitting about 80c when playing bf4. My auto fan curve for EVGA Precision X is only hitting 50% when before it was hitting around 67-70% keeping my temps at around 73-75c for the top card. Now when I manually put it at 67-70% for the fan curve my temps hit a whopping 80c. Is this okay for the card to reach 80c, and also should I try another method like MSI afterburner instead of EVGA precision X since the auto-fan curve seems to be faulty now, or iuno wth is wrong with it.

The new AMD cards are set to run at 95C almost 100% of the time. The 780ti's can handle similar temps.

No, 80C is not a problem. I'd personally try to set my cards to hit around that market, if not a little higher to keep noise levels down, though with the way Boost works, you may not want to, for optimal performance.

I knew the amd cards were hot, but damn really? 95c almost all the time? It makes 80c seems cool lol. Well, alright then, I'll still keep my on it though to make sure it's not getting hotter over time. Thanks for the response.

AMD has changed the way their cards boost, or rather, they decided to go the reverse route. Now their cards go to maximum boost with a fixed fan speed and once they hit 95C, they start to throttle to maintain 95C. The good part of this is that they have a fixed noise profile. How long and happy a card is at 95C is unknown to me. No card really allowed this in the past.
