Question Gpu idle core speed

Just switched to a 1080 ti from a 970 and noticed whenever i watch anything youtube/wmp/netflix my core clock will just sit at 607 mhz and wont drop down untill i turn off whatever im watching but on my 970 i could watch the same stuff but gpu would sit at idle speeds anyone know why this is doing this? thanks

No expert in Nvidia, but seems to me it is just using its power states differently. Expect if it runs hot at this clock speed (which would be not a good sign) there should be no problem overall?
