GPU idling at 60 celsius.

I have an MSI Nvidia Gtx 970. As mentioned above, its idling at 60c. It used to idle at around 40. I dont think its my fans as i get an idle temp of 30c with my cpu. I have windows 10 and recently my pc has been blackscreening randomly. The pc stays on but the screen goes black, and sometimes when i restart it will boot to a black screen but the mouse pointer is still visible. Please help...

Are you running 1 or 2 monitors?

If you are running 2 monitors, your GPU is not clocking down, creating the extra heat. You need to go into your Nvidia Control Panel - Manage 3d Settings - Power Management Mode - and set that to ADAPTIVE and not maxiumum.

Hey, thanks for speedy reply. No i havent...I just realized that my gpu fans arent spinning, and i m not sure why...

Im running one monitor but it is set to maximum performance in the nvidia control panel.Ill try changing it and let you know

Hello... The GPU fans should be running all the time at about 33% speed... see if the GPU fans start up Full speed with PC BOOT and Slow back down. If you Don't have GPU fan movement then your card has gone Bad and further use will damage your GPU Chip.

Sorry, picked solution by mistake. Ive heard that the 970 doesnt spin until 60 degrees just now.
Anyhow each time i try to start a game i get black screened.

Hello... Your Fan does not start to 'SPIN UP" over 33% fan speed until 60C... Your GPU Fan should Boot At fULL speed when you press your Power button on the PC.
