hi, i have a pny gtx 650, and gpu z reports that it is running in pci e 2.0 mode, and my mobo's box says it supports pci e 2.0/3.0, and my graphics card's box says it cando 3.0, but gpu z reports it is running at 1.1, and can support 2.0?!! I have an ivy bridge i3

Solution

Yes gpu's downclock at idle. That's natural.

Use gpuz click on the ? next to the pcie info and run the render test your pcie slot will jump to it's highest setting.

Ivy i3's are limited to 2.0 specs, you need i5 or higher i think for 3.0.

In real world the jump from 2.0 to 3.0 is like 1~2%. So it doesn't even matter.
