I just upgraded from my 770 to two 970s and after installing the new cards my computer powers on and restarts. I It seems to me like everything is getting power and is connected securely so I cannot figure out what the problem is. Any advice?

Solution
OK so do you have an adequate PSU? Did you attach all the 6/8 pin secondary power feeds from the PSU? Have you installed the bridge connector between the two cards? Have you tried one card at a time and one card in each slot being used for the pair. If both cards work singularly in each slot and all the connections are correct then my guess is the PSU is not adequate.

Could it be because I have not uninstalled the old drivers?

I put the 770 back in and it worked with a single stick of ram. It then worked in the same setup but with a single 970. Putting in the second 970 resulted in no image again though

Whats this about RAM? You never mentioned any RAM issues. Please answer the following:
Have you tried each 970 by itself in each of the two slots you want to use?
Do they work one at a time in either slot?
What is the brand and model of your PSU?
Are you using the SLI connector between the two cards when trying both?
As I said, if each card works in either slot by itself but the two together cause the issue, then it sounds like the PSU can not handle the load.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. Everything is working now. For whatever reason I just had to remove one of my sticks of ram and then install the first card then them both together and then finally adding the second stick of ram back in. Thanks for the help though. It made me re-evaluate and do things little by little.
