Hi guys , well I noticed my gpu has some oil leakage all over it , and even going into the pcie port ,can the port be damaged this way , and what type of thermal pads should I change to , in order to prevent this from happening again

the only oil your GPU could have is from fans, there is oil for quiet fan rotation

tho i do prefer vaseline used in car transmissions, they can handle high temperatures...slapped it on mine notebook 10years ago, and fan still quiet, while original oil got dry in a year

what type of thermal pads should I change to
Funny(?) that you ask, because that's one of the places where it comes from. The oil is harmless.
If the gpu is mounted vertically, that would be the other source; seepage from fans, and they fling the oil on the card.

Leave changing thermal pads alone except if there is a very serious memory thermal issue.
It should be done as a last resort. Doing so is hit and miss, as well as being very niche(even more than custom loop and M-ITX builds).
You could well be on your own if you screw up.

Probably oil from thermal pads.

Anyway - show photos.

before this post i didnt even know that thermal pads could sweat oil, apperntly they do when running gpu over 70c...well never had gpu running above 70c for too long, my old gtx 1070ti was running 80c first few days till i watercooled it to 50c, my new shiny rx 6800 runs up to 63c..so i should be still safe :)

So if the oil gets in the pcie its not a problem , cause i can see some of it spilt over the connecter or has just got there some how . Will my mb get damaged and if so how can I stop it from leaking .
