What limits the length of the GPU, is it only the case you're using for your build? Is it the form factor of the motherboard? Do longer cards (such as the EVGA GTX 970 FTW) work on mini-ITX motherboards too? Does the chipset (H110, H170, Z170) have to do with anything? Most of the time I see H110 builds with smaller (shorter) cards and Z170 builds with longer cards, I just can't understand why. I want to know how to determine which card fits a specific motherboard.

I was using pcpartpicker to start a build with a Gigabyte GA-H110N (mini-ITX) motherboard. I wanted the build to have a EVGA GTX 970 FTW graphics card. However, after adding the motherboard I can no longer choose a Video Card. The site won't let me. Any ideas?
