Hey,

I've built my setup couple weeks ago and just now my GPU started making sound that kinda reminds of mosquito noice.
This sound only appears during gaming / stress test. The sound can be heard the best behind of the PC, next of display ports.
"Mosquito" sound tone changes during stress test and stops when scene changes on stress test and keeps going again. I used Heaven benchmark 4.0 for stress test with ultra settings.
Any burnt or electric smell doesn't appear.

GPU: Asus RTX 3070 TI

I've tried:
  • changing Display cable spot on those different slots, but didn't help.
  • Restarting PC.

    HWmonitor screenshot during stress test:

Hey there,

Yes, this sounds like coil whine. List the rest of your PC specs.

Coil whine is not dangerous, but it's very annoying. You can reduce the effect by capping in game frame rates or monitor refresh. It also does not impact performance.

It's often linked to the PSU or the VRM's on the mobo or GPU.

What bios are you running? You should be on version 2014. This will give best compatibility, and some bug fixes. Might help with the issue. You might also ensure your system drivers, GPU drivers etc are all up to date.
