GPU maybe broken?

So ive been having trouble with my fps in games (and probably other GPU requiring tasks). I had earlier 5-20 fps in csgo, tried everything to fix the problem, clean installed windows. Now the fps has gone up to 50 but it is still not where it should be (200ish).

So all of this happened because my pc was in a storage room for approx. 2 weeks. After that i plugged in my pc and it was terribly slow. I somehow managed to get rid of the slowness but my fps in games were terrible.

So do you guys have any idea what might cause this? Is my GPU dead as a shoe or is it something else causing this?

EDIT: I was playing against bots in csgo and i think the gpu is overheating or something because the fps dropped to 10..

Have you checked the inside of your case for dust? Also, do you have a SSD or Hard Drive? I know that HDD sometimes become damaged after not being maintained in the correct environments.

I have checked for dust, SSD for windows HDD for programs and other stuff. Also I played against bots for a while yesterday in cs and i started out with 50 fps but it dropped to 10 a while later. After that I downloaded heaven benchmark, put it on max settings and started running it. I was only getting 20 fps but the GPU temperature didnt go up so I guess it's not overheating thats causing this?

Have you tried updating any drivers or windows? In addition, monitor your cpu/gpu temps when playing games (before/during/ after) to determine whether or not it is a heat issue.

I have upgraded GPU drivers and windows.. Also I did a benchmark and the GPU temp didnt go over 54C even after an hour of benchmarking with max graphics.. And I don't know how to see GPU temp while in-game

If you have another PCI-E slot for your graphics card I would suggest switching slots and then seeing how it goes. I would also suggest you install CSGO on your SSD and see how that goes of you haven't already. There may be a chance that this problem is HDD related. I would also try taking the graphics card out if you have integrated graphics on your processor. Also, what are your specs?

I don't have another PCI-E slot, I will try moving cs to the ssd downloading everything would take sooo much time. Also I don't have the graphics card in my pc atm because I'm gonna test it today in a defferent pc.

Asrock Z68 Gen 3
i5-2500K
Asus GTX 660
2x4Gb of HyperX RAM
PSU is from my old pc

Ok now it seems like the problem is not the gpu... Tested it in another pc and got good results from a benchmark... Also I just tried running minecraft with the i5 integrated graphics and was getting stunning 0-2fps and according to other people i should be getting at least 30

Ok never mind it was the other RAM card... Took them out 1 by one and fps went up from 0-5 to 60 with i5 integrated graphics...

Still getting bad fps in cs tho :/

It is ok that you get bad fps with only 4gb of RAM as there isn't much to go around. I would try switching around the RAM to different slots to figure out if it's the motherboard slot or the RAM itself.

I have the working card in the slot where the faulty one was originally and its working normally.. I will try and maybe take RAM from another pc to test if that fixes the problem

Ok i put in 4gb more and still lags... and the performance went lower again.. but not as low as it was before i took out the other ram card

I think you should try the gpu on a different pc, but since you said you tried not using integrated graphics yet you still had an issue, the gpu is most likely not the problem.

oh well.. Probably gonna get a new gpu anyways for video editing and stuff and then get a new motherboard.. :/
