I can't decide what combo to get for moderate gaming on an ultrawide 2k 1440p. I almost bought a 1060 3GB, but the cheaper freesync monitors made me come here and ask first. I would like the card to be white in color.

what monitor and card would you get say around $1000 for both total.

Solution
Get GTX 1070 with Asus PB328Q monitor. That should cost you around 800$. If you want to spend those additional 200$ you have left, you can buy GTX 1080 instead of 1070, but in my opinion the price difference between the two is much higher than their performance difference

You can see that most of the games are running at 60+ fps at maximum settings, an no game drops below 40 fps. Again, if money isn't an issue, get GTX 1080, but 1070 will do the job just fine

You are on the low part of the budget to get a playable framarate at max on ultrawide 1440p, im playing at that resolution and a 1080 is streched, with slightly reduced settings maybe a 1070, but i will never try to go under it.

For 1000$ my choice would be:
- The monitor: LG Electronics UM67 34UM67 (Slightly over 400$)
- The card two options: MSI GAMING GeForce GTX 1080 (near 650$, slightly over the budget)

You need a monitor and a GPU, and you are on a budget? This ticks all the boxes of Freesync, really. However 1000 dollars is enough for G-Sync + good Nvidia GPU.

The GTX 1070 is a powerful setup for 1440p gaming with G-Sync.
THe RX 480 is a powerful setup for 1080p gaming with Freesync.

Thanks RCFProd I'm just going through all your suggestions now. You guys have given me some really good ideas thanks.

Thanks everyone, I am interested in the PB328Q, I can't see on LG website any of their multiple ultrawides oc to 75, while Asus is able to OC to 75hz it doesn't support freesync or gsync tech. Still I feel that it might be a worthy candidate paired with a 480 or 1060.
