so... i bought a motherboard for my girlfriends computer because it seemed to be the problem with her old system so heres the thing

it involes:
GPU #1 (Uses 2x 8 pin connectors)
GPU #2, (no connectors, runs off of pcie slot)
PCIE Slot #1 x16
PCIE Slot #2 x4

GPU #1 does not work in either slot. the fan spins but no display (yes the psu power cords are plugged in to it lol)
GPU #2 does work ONLY on PCIE slot #2, on pcie slot #1 it has the same problem as GPU #1

to make sure PCIE slot #1 isn't dead, i plugged a wifi card in to it and it works fine. i tried disabling onboard graphics but doesnt change anything. our goal right now is to get GPU #1 to work since GPU #2 is a really old one just for testing purposes.

Board: LGA 1155 (cant remember model, but its by gigabyte)
GPU #1: GTX 560
GPU #2: old AMD card that i cant even find drivers for
wifi card: Asus PCE-N53

before you say gpu 1 is dead, it worked in my system, but neither of her motherboards. her cpu is a crappy pentium G640 and she has a 550W PSU

any ideas? thanks in advance

I know you mentioned you have power connected to the GTX 560 card from the PSU via the 12v Pci-e power connectors.

But did you connect the eight pin 12v E-atx power block to the motherboard from the PSU also.

I only say because when it is not connected a Pci-e card fitted to the first Pci-e card slot of the motherboard is often not detected, or outputs any sort of display signal but the fans on the card do infact still spin.

The eight pin block is usually located on the motherboard near the heat sinks sat on the Vrm power modules near the cpu socket.
Or right at the top edge of the motherboard or placed between the Vrm cooler and the main I/O ports of the motherboard.

Just have a double check it`s connected Iwerli, I cannot count how often people miss it or forget about it, but mainly just don`t see the eight pin 12v E-atx block because is put in such of a out of the way position on the motherboard.

the mobo is a Gigabyte Ga-b75m-d3h, the only blocks for psu power i see is the 4 pin cpu power and the 24 pin mobo connector, i dont believe im missing anything haha
