Hello,
I have looked around the forum and I have seen similar questions but they dont answer my question.

I have bought the msi geforce gtx 970 gaming 4gb. While I was installing the card I noticed that I needed both a 6 pin and an 8 pin connector. My psu only has one 6 pin. I have read that there might be a 6 pin splitter or an molex to 8 pin converter or something. What should I do?

My psu is the MS Tech MS N750 VAL http://www.ms-tech.de/eng/index.php/product/detail/pdcid/74/pdid/334

Solution
I would say that you'd be good with a 550, maybe 650 if you wanted to have a little more room to breath.

The calculator comes out with a recommended power rating of ~430W.

I recommend the G2, GS or GQ series of EVGA SuperNova supplies. Out of those three series I think the G2's are the best. You can't go wrong with XFX or Seasonic either.

What would be the best thing to do? Should I try and use an adapter or buy a new psu?

my suggestion would be a new PSU
It's not only about connector, you will need more power, that is why the card has two connectors
I can't believe a 750W PSU has only 1 6+2 PCI-E connector

Okay then, any suggestions to which I should buy and what I should be looking for when buying a new one?

Can you give some of the rest of your specs? This will give us an idea of how much power your system needs.
