Question Gpu not being detected by motherboard

Specs:MSI z97 gaming 5,32gb ram, GTX 1080ti zotac amp extreme, i7 7700 cpu

I check motherboards onboard device checker and it said that every slot was empty but my GTX 1080 ti was clearly in it and working
The LEDs were atleast this is causing my fans not to spin and not allowing me to get any input on my monitor
Im using the onboard gpu right now but I don't see anything related to the GTX 1080ti

Any troubleshooting steps I could take to help me fix the non detection?

I haven't tried another PC but I have tried other gpus and they work fine except this one doesn't it lights up perfectly but no detection I'm using a 700w psu
